Awareness - Key to Peace and Liberation

RETREAT LOCATION & TIMING

The retreat will be held at Sundara Retreat, situated in the beautiful country north of Lismore, NSW. For details see the website: www.sundararetreat.net The retreat will begin with a light supper at 6pm on Friday 9 th January, and finish with lunch on Monday 12 th January. A list of what you’ll need to bring will be sent to those who’ve booked closer to the time of the retreat.

COST

The cost is $235, which covers 3 nights accommodation and 3 vegetarian meals per day,

There is space for 14 retreatants, so early booking is advised.

The balance of the retreat cost must be paid in cash at Sundara during ‘registration’ on the first day from 3.30 to 5.30pm.

THE RETREAT THEME

David writes: The theme of the retreat will be ‘Awareness – key to peace and liberation.’ Through meditation and discussion we will explore the direct path of awakening to our true nature by bringing awareness into the centre of our mandala of practice. Our awareness is the arrow that takes us directly to our liberated ever-present true nature. When this is recognised, we discover stillness and liberation through ordinary daily living.

The retreat will be conducted along the lines of a typical DharmaMind retreat – it will be held in silence, with personal practice interviews on request; there will be periods of sitting and walking meditation, dharma talks, and opportunities for questions and answers. OTHER OPPORTUNITIES TO MEET DAVID

For those of you living on the north coast who cannot come to the retreat but would like to meet David Smith, we shall probably organise an informal gathering at my house in Mullumbimby sometime during his stay here (from January 5 th to the 26 th). For those living in Sydney, we may be able to organise something similar in Newtown around the middle of the month. More details about this later.
